General Information about our tapestries Tapestries are unique works of art as they reflect the variations in the natural fibers and the complexity of weaving miles of cotton into a single tapestry. The art of each tapestry is woven into every square inch and evokes a richness and value that dates back to the 7th Century. Over the years tapestries have evolved into sophisticated works of art with a depth of texture that surpasses traditional art forms. All of the tapestries on this web site are woven on a jacquard loom from the finest natural cotton, some of the tapestries also have a chenille or wool overlay adding an extra richness and texture to these already stunning tapestries (see individual tapestries for specifics). Once the tapestry is woven it is finished and lined by skilled craftsmen ready for you to hang in your home. Our emphasis is on contemporary designs featuring world-renowned artisans but we do carry a few of the traditional style tapestry designs from the Old World. Due to the nature of weaving individual tapestries may vary in size by up to +/- 5%. The reasons for this include things like the tolerances of the specific loom that it was woven on; the finishing and lining process also plays a part in the final size of the tapestry. All these factors also help make each tapestry a unique piece of fine art for you to display with pride. We try to reproduce the pictures as close to the original as possible but due to several factors the colors may vary slightly from what you see on your computer monitor. The first factor in color variance can come from the individual tapestries as they are woven from dyed natural yarns the dye lot of the yarn can produce differences. The other major differences come from the camera settings and also the difference in the settings on you computer monitor. As we know you are trying to find that perfect tapestry to match your home décor and it can be a difficult task especially viewing the pictures on your monitor. So to counter this we have a 60-day money back guarantee to allow you plenty of time to see the tapestry in your own surroundings. So who makes our tapestries? Pure Country Weavers weave all of our tapestries with pride in the Foothills of North Carolina. They are a family owned company with over 200 years of experience in the textile trade. Their skilled craftsmen bring generations of experience to each woven tapestry. We believe they are the premier tapestry weavers in America and the quality of their work is exceptional.
